Letter to the Editor: Keep Virginia Competitive

Mark Herzog, executive director of the Virginia Biotechnology Assocation (VaBIO), wrote a recent letter to the editor which was published in Inside NOVA. Herzog draws attention to the growth of the bioscience community in Northern Virginia, and urges continued support for this emerging industry that helps support both jobs and scientific research. The letter also responds to recent bioscience-related state legislation:

The recent General Assembly session took a bold step in passing legislation aimed at rewarding investors for developing bioscience and advanced spinouts from our universities.

The Virginia Biotechnology Assocation has more information about public policy issues facing the community, including bills to watch in VA’s General Assembly.
